My first quilt needs quilting:)

We have finished putting the quilt together!!

Hooray!!!

For our first quilt we attached all three layers. Now all I have to do is go out and buy a really nice/sturdy quilting hoop and this quilt will be on its way!!!

Taggie Blankets

You saw it first, yes, I'm ashamed to say it, this is me, finally!
My little sister, Dee:)
My oldest niece, Elise:)
Raw edge of top
Finished bottom
Finished product!
This was truly a family affair from start to end. My sister showed me how to use her sewing machine. After handquilting most of the top on my first quilt (see below), it was a pleasure to zip right through using a sewing machine.

Points of interest:
1. The blanket measured approximately 16X18
2. Top was 100 % cotton
3. Bottom was snuggly flannel
4. Ribbons were different textures, three (3) inches long, folded when sewn, and most
were at least (1) inch wide. I collected the ribbons by participating in a ribbon swap within the OHGWQ yahoo group.
5. The short side contained four(4) taggies spaced out, one (1) long side contained four (4) taggies spaced out and the other contained five (5) to include the twice folded over fabric from the top used to attach the hand-rattle.
6. The fabric was pre-washed.

Isn't it awesome!!!!I love it so much, I made one for me and my secret pal!!!

My first top!!!

Just squishing around....
