Winter Secret Quilter

This past weekend I received a gift exchange as a part of the Red Thread Quilters Yahoo Group's Winter Secret Quilter (Mary F.). The way the exchange works: You buy quilting gifts based on your buddies questionnaire. I wasn't sure what my buddy would think after reading my answers. Wow! I was surprised! My Winter Secret Quilter came to the rescue and sent a quilting book that is her favorite quilting book. She also spoke with a local quilt store manager who recommended the same book. The name of the book is "Quilts!Quilts!Quilts! The Complete Guide to Quiltmaking" by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes. My Winter Secret Quilter also sent a beautiful piece of fabric which I think is called a batik.

Just when I thought I was finished swapping, I joined an "Anything Red" quilt square swap. I hope to use the red squares to accent our little one's "100" Good Wishes Quilt. Those squares will start appearing here in March:)

I also started playing with my new sewing machine. I have to get the new kinks out and plan on practicing for the next few weeks. I have many unfinished projects that need working on. First to finish are Elise and Alyssa's gifts!
